Required Physical Exams

As a legal condition of employment, you must pass a post-offer physical examination, drug screen and PPD (TB test). If you are hired for a patient care position, you will also be required to have a TB fit test, which will find the appropriate fit for a mask should you need it for exposure prevention while working. You may also be required to have a physical exam to determine ability in case of a personal or work-related injury or condition. Additional screenings include Tuberculosis and Chemotherapy.

Testing, Immunizations, Treatment and Education

The following tests and immunizations are provided at no cost to you on-site at each of the Mountain States Health Alliance facilities or designated off-site locations:

  • TB testing
  • Required immunizations and titre testing
  • Flu shots
  • Tdap
  • Required respiratory fitness testing
  • Hepatitis B vaccine
  • Tetanus/diphtheria on work-related injuries
  • Titres for hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella

Nurse with Team Member PatientIn addition, Team Member Health provides treatment for anyone exposed to bloodborne pathogens while at work, which includes first aid treatment, decontamination to exposed area, lab tests, prophylaxis if necessary, incident investigation and evaluating trends.

You must comply with required annual vaccinations and other mandatory health and safety items. Non-compliance will result in corrective discipline up to and including termination.

Workers' Compensation Administration

If you become ill or injured as a result of doing your job, be sure to let your supervisor know and complete the work-related injury/illness form found in the HR/Payroll Service Center Web page from the Mountain States intranet. Then, contact the Team Member Health coordinator at your facility for further information.

Return to Work Program

This program allows Team Members to continue working if they cannot do their normal duties because of a work-related illness or injury by placing them in a temporary job that allows for working safely within their restrictions.

Disease Management

Team Member Health provides blood pressure monitoring, medical screening of Team Members who present with symptoms, and support and referral for Team Members' physical and emotional needs.
